Naiza Boom Members Gets $30 to $50 Monthly Salary!

Harare | Naiza Boom members have spoken out about their recent departure, offering insight on the reasons behind their leaving.

After nine years, Terrence Chirinda (Jatiwero), Yvonne Chirowa (Vovo), Myron Muswe (Ozemwa), and Enlight Muzira (Netsai) departed the group, claiming inadequate pay and unprofessional treatment from the group’s director, Michael Machiwona.

Ozemwa, one of the outgoing members, told Chibanda Media that he and his colleagues have brought these concerns to the notice of the public. He accused Naiza Boom of paying them pitiful wages, referring to them as “peanuts.”

Naiza Boom, according to Ozemwa, first paid a good wage but eventually cut it to an unsatisfactory level.

“Inini, Jatiwero Vovo na Netsai tiri four tisu takabuditsa nyaya iyi. Chakapa kuti tibuditse nyaya iyi tashungurudzika, tatambudzika. Nhau yanyanya kutambudza, yekutanga inhau isalary. Mukomana anonzi Naiza haabhadhari kubva musi wekutanga. Pakutanga tanga aimbobhadhara hake fair. Ndofunga rakangove gore kana kuti gore nemamonths mashoma shoma,” Ozemwa elaborated.

He also claimed that Naiza Boom used divisive tactics among the members, causing conflicts and a lack of respect within the group.

“Naiza haana respect. Haagoni kutaura. Mukanwa make umu hamubude mashoko akarurama. Naiza Boom kana kuti Michael Machiwona dambudziko rake anorwisanisa vashandi. Ndofunga ndakashanda makore akati wandei inini na Jatiwero tiri vaviri takatovengana asi takanga takavengana because of Naiza. Because Naiza kana ana Jatiwero anonyeya Ozemwa. Kana Ozemwa anonyeya Jatiwero,” Ozemwa claimed.

He further stated that Naiza Boom replaced them with new members when they realized they were speaking out. You can view the full video below:

Vovo, another member, echoed Ozemwa’s concerns about insufficient earnings. She stated that the money they received from Naiza Boom was not enough to sustain their basic needs.

“Inini handichabata ne Naiza Boom nemhaka yekuti mari dzatirikutambira ku Naiza Boom haisi kundikwanira. Kana ndichiti haisi kundikwanira imari yekuti kana kuzvirukisa musoro, handisi kukwanisa kuzvirukisa musoro. Kana nditi nditengere mwana wangu something, handisi kukwanisa sa Amai kuti nditengera mwana wangu something. So ndoimwe nyaya ya trigger stereki kuti ndisiyane ne Naiza Boom,” Vovo disclosed to Chibanda Media.

Vovo explained that their earnings varied each month, ranging from $30 to $80, and they had not signed any formal contract specifying their monthly pay. Additionally, she mentioned restrictions on interactions, such as not being allowed to take pictures with people, especially celebrities.

“Handingati mari yandanga ndichipihwa every month imari yakati nemhaka yakati mari iyi inouya zvakasiyana siyana. Mumwe musi inouya iri $30 umwe musi inouya iri $50. Kana tazonyanyopihwa mari dzakawanda i$80,” Vovo explained her earnings.

When asked what their next steps are, Vovo said they plan to establish their own group and YouTube channel. She added that they will collaborate with others who are still a part of Naiza Boom, indicating their determination to continue their creative pursuits independently.

“So far hatisisati tane YouTube channel yedu. But tirikugadzirawo YouTube channel yedu tiri four. Inini, Jatiwero, Netsai na Ozemwa ne vamwe vatichashanda navo. Kozoita vamwe various mu Naiza Boom imomo vasara,” Vovo revealed their next steps.- iHarare
