Harare, Zimbabwe | Three senior officials from National Handling Services (NHS), a government-owned company in Zimbabwe, have been suspended and placed on forced leave following serious allegations of corruption, mismanagement, and poor leadership.

NHS is responsible for providing ground handling services at airports across Zimbabwe. However, the company is said to have lost millions of dollars due to the alleged mismanagement by top officials.

The three suspended executives are:

  1. Godknows Maravanyika – Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
  2. Question Maisera – Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
  3. Shamiso Nyangairi – Head of Human Resources

These officials are accused of fraud and misusing company resources, according to insiders. The NHS board, led by chairperson Godwin Nyengedza, confirmed that the executives were asked to step down temporarily while investigations are ongoing.

Nyengedza said, “The board asked certain members of the executive team to go on leave with full benefits. This is a live matter, and I can’t comment much more at this stage. If there’s an update, we will inform the public.”

Maravanyika, one of the suspended officials, denied the allegations, saying he and his colleagues were not given any valid reasons for their suspension. “We were just told not to report for duty. No valid reasons were provided,” he said.
