Mrs. Noralyn Baja, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Zimbabwe, recently met with President Emmerson Mnangagwa to present her credentials. During the meeting, Ambassador Baja expressed her country’s interest in strengthening diplomatic ties with Zimbabwe.
One of the key initiatives discussed was the establishment of an honorary consulate of the Philippines in Zimbabwe. This move aims to enhance bilateral relations and facilitate closer cooperation between the two nations.
Ambassador Baja highlighted the importance of having a diplomatic presence in Zimbabwe to better serve the interests of Filipino citizens and promote mutual understanding between the two countries.

While plans for the honorary consulate are underway, Ambassador Baja mentioned that she will temporarily oversee Zimbabwean affairs from the Philippines’ diplomatic mission in Pretoria, South Africa.
