A senior manager at Old Mutual, Musa Nyasha Dube Manyika, has been accused of raping a 23-year-old intern on two separate occasions.
The alleged victim, a third-year University of Zimbabwe student, was a recipient of the Old Mutual Scholarship. She claims that Manyika, who was part of the scholarship committee, took advantage of her position to coerce her into sexual acts.
The first alleged incident occurred in November 2022. Manyika reportedly invited the intern to his office to assist with a task. Once there, he allegedly forced himself on her, threatening to withdraw her scholarship if she resisted.

The second alleged incident took place on June 19, 2023. Manyika is accused of inviting the intern to meet him at Ashbrittle Shops, where he allegedly engaged in non-consensual sexual acts with her.
Manyika has appeared before Harare Magistrates’ Court and been granted bail. The case is currently under investigation.
