How Peter Dube Lived Lavish Life Before Capture in Ireland

After a two-year international manhunt, Peter Dube, a fugitive wanted for three murders in Zimbabwe, was finally apprehended in Ireland in June of last year. Dube had been a top priority on the Zimbabwean police’s most wanted list, sought in connection with three separate homicide cases allegedly committed in 2021.

Initially, reports from H-Metro revealed that Dube’s arrest in Ireland was not directly linked to the murder charges but rather stemmed from minor offenses he had committed since relocating to Ireland. Irish authorities, quoted in local media, confirmed the arrest of a man in his thirties on suspicion of offenses under the Criminal Justice Theft and Fraud Offences Act 2001.

Before his capture, Dube had effectively altered his identity, assuming the name Xolile Mtsali, as part of his efforts to evade law enforcement. His flight from justice began on the night of April 23, 2021, when he allegedly carried out a triple homicide at Bensam Flats in central Gweru, resulting in the deaths of Shelton Chinhango, Gamuchirai Mudungwe, and Nyaradzo Nharingo.

Despite the gravity of his crimes, Dube managed to elude authorities for two years, utilizing tactics such as identity changes and seeking asylum in Ireland. It’s believed that he may have obtained a new passport in Eswatini in October 2021, further complicating efforts to track him down.

In a bid to secure his capture, Zimbabwean authorities activated Interpol, issuing a Red Notice to alert law enforcement agencies worldwide.
