Football legend Peter Ndlovu, celebrated for his remarkable career on the field, is now embroiled in controversy off the pitch.
His former partner, Florence Dlamini, has accused the former Zimbabwe Warriors captain of neglecting their daughter, allegedly referring to her as a “bastard,” and providing only R600 per month in child support.
In an emotional account, Dlamini opened up about her struggles, contrasting the public image of the iconic star with the reality of their strained relationship.
Speaking to The Chronicle, Dlamini recounted a traumatic moment during her mother’s battle with cancer.
“I called Peter at one of the lowest points in my life. My mother was in ICU fighting for her life, and I needed him to look after his daughter so I could focus on taking care of her,” she said.

Instead of support, Dlamini claimed Ndlovu responded with cruelty.
“He shouted at me, saying, ‘Why are you bothering me? Your bastard child is not my problem.’ Those words shattered me. How can someone deny their own child like that?”
Dlamini was left to care for her critically ill mother while simultaneously supporting her daughter, with no help from Ndlovu.
“I didn’t ask him to cover medical expenses for my mother. All I wanted was for him to step up as a father,” she said. “But he turned his back on me when I needed him most.”
Dlamini’s challenges intensified following her mother’s passing.
“I travelled to Zimbabwe for the funeral, leaving my daughter with a helper. After paying for hospital bills and funeral costs, I was left with nothing. My friends and colleagues helped where they could, but it wasn’t enough,” she said.
She turned to Ndlovu once more for assistance but received the same dismissive response.
“He claimed he was in Tanzania and couldn’t help. Yet, he flaunts his wealth online—his luxury cars and extravagant lifestyle. How can someone in his position send only R600 a month? That doesn’t even cover basic groceries, let alone other expenses,” Dlamini said.
The constant need to beg for support has taken a toll on her.
“Every week, I have to ask, while he enjoys the life of a king. My daughter often asks, ‘Why doesn’t Daddy love me?’ How do I even begin to answer that?”
The revelations have sparked heated discussions online, with many urging Ndlovu to fulfill his responsibilities as a father.
“I’m not speaking out for attention,” Dlamini said. “This is about giving my daughter what she deserves—a father who loves and supports her.”
Ndlovu has not publicly addressed the allegations, despite repeated attempts to reach him. Meanwhile, he has continued to showcase his lavish lifestyle, recently receiving a R2.6 million BMW X6M Sport Competition as a gift from businessman Wicknell Chivayo.
For Dlamini, the issue goes beyond money.
“This isn’t about bitterness or revenge. It’s about love, accountability, and showing up for your child. I want my daughter to know her worth, to know she is loved and valued,” she said.
Dlamini hopes her decision to speak out will encourage change, not just for her daughter but for others facing similar struggles.
“This is about more than just support. It’s about being present, being a father, and taking responsibility. That’s all I want for my daughter.”
