Pinnacle Holdings avails 20K stands for civil servants in Manyame

Harare, Zimbabwe | Pinnacle Holdings chairman, Dr Philip Chiyangwa on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding with Local Government Minister Daniel Garwe that will see civil servants get affordable 20 000 stands as part of the 250 000 ambitious Tantallon Estates housing project in Manyame.

The MOU was signed at the Local Government and Public Works Ministry headquarters at Makombe building in Harare.

Garwe said government has been engaging private developers like Pinnacle to avail affordable housing to people.

“The President (Emmerson Mnangagwa) wants to see every civil servant with at least a stand or a flat,” Garwe said.

He said the terms of conditions is affordable.

“They are very affordable, we are now working on affordable mortgage. It will be more than 10 years to pay but if you can pay in cash you can do so,” Garwe said.

Steward bank is one of the banks financing the project where prospective house owners can get mortgages.

Garwe said the days of disputed land sales by land barons is over urging people to buy stands to approved such as Pinnacle.

“We want to warn land barons from selling state land. They should stop duping people of their hard earned money,” he said.

“We want all of us to say goodbye to the existence of land barons.”

The minister said the Pinnacle project dovetails to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s vision to make Zimbabwe an upper middle class society in 2030 by providing decent,
well planned and modern houses.

Garwe said his ministry had planned to avail one million stands by December 2025 but they have already surpassed the figure and now aims to avail up to 2 million stands this year.

Of the 20 000 stands availed to government workers, Garwe said 30 percent will be allocated to the security sector while 70 percent will be allocated to the rest of the civil servants.

Dr Chiyangwa said Pinnacle will be launching other housing projects in different towns and cities across the country.

He said soon Pinnacle will be developing stands in Kariba, Chinhoyi, Chegutu, Kadoma, Midlands and Matabeleland provinces.

“We have land throughout Zimbabwe. We will give a total of 1.2 million stands,” Dr Chiyangwa said.

Tantallon Estates which sits on 590 hectares of land is in Manyame behind Chitungwiza and can be accessed via Landas road which goes to Chihota.

The immediate plan is to avail 3314 residential stands, five storey flats to have 13 000 bedsitters, 15 000 one bedroomed flats, 20 000 two bed-roomed flats, and 12 500 three bed-roomed flats.
