A commuter taxi worker is currently hospitalized following a shocking incident in which he was set on fire after allegedly stealing a lighter from a vendor. The man was reportedly doused in paraffin and ignited with a cigarette lighter in an act of retaliation.
The troubling event unfolded when the vendor, incensed by the theft, prepared a bottle of paraffin and waited for the victim to return to the taxi rank.
Upon his arrival, the vendor confronted him, pouring the flammable liquid over him before igniting it. This violent reaction stemmed from previous accusations that the victim had taken a cigarette from the vendor without paying.
The police have since arrested the vendor, who now faces serious charges in connection with the incident. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to understand the full circumstances surrounding this brutal act.
This incident highlights the extreme responses that can arise from disputes in public spaces and raises questions about the need for conflict resolution and de-escalation strategies within communities. As the victim receives medical treatment, the community grapples with the repercussions of this tragic event.
