Police Officer Guns Down Traffic Officer Over a Woman

An altercation between a member of the South African Police Service and a member of the Johannesburg Metro Police Department ended in tragedy when one shot the other dead.

In a recent social media video, the traffic cop is seen attempting to get access to the SAPS officer, who was seated inside a car, but is prevented by another man.

According to reports, both cops were off duty at the time and were not supposed to have their service weapons with them.

According to a source close to the issue, the JMPD officer became enraged when he found that his new girlfriend was at a nightclub with her ex and baby daddy.

According to the source, the two have a three-month-old child but are no longer together.

“The woman was now dating the traffic cop, with whom she was spending a lot of time.” We don’t know who informed him that his girlfriend had been observed with her ex, a SAPS officer.

When he arrived, the girlfriend was still in her baby daddy’s car, refusing to come out. “The two men began arguing, and then a gun was drawn,” according to the informant.

According to the informant, the incident may have been prevented if his friend, the JMPD officer, had not continued to provoke the other person.

“I know for a fact that my friend was not going to shoot; he just pulled out his gun because when he tried to drive away, they blocked him because he beat the SAPS officer and his one friend.”

He wasn’t a violent person, and it’s unfortunate that he died over something so trivial. We even questioned the mom where the baby was while she went out late,”

According to JMPD spokeswoman Xolani Fihla, the deceased was purportedly departing the parking lot when he was stopped by a car.

“There was an argument between the driver and the officer, and shots were fired.” “The (JMPD) officer was pronounced dead at the scene.”

According to Fihla, there were other occupants in the SAPS officer’s vehicle, and the suspect has not yet been detained.

Robbie Raburabu of IPID verified the shooting. “The incident is said to have occurred in the early hours of Monday morning in Braamfontein in front of a drinking establishment.”

Although no arrests have been made, IPID is examining the circumstances surrounding the shooting and death.
