Police Seek to Arrest War Veteran and Zanu PF Central Committee Member Blessed Geza

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has announced its intention to arrest prominent war veteran and Zanu PF Central Committee member, Blessed Geza, also known as “Bombshell,” on multiple charges, including incitement to commit public violence, undermining the authority of the president, and theft of three vehicles.

In a press statement issued on February 12, 2025, the ZRP stated that they are actively seeking information on Geza’s whereabouts for questioning. Authorities have warned that anyone found aiding or harboring the suspect will also face legal consequences.

According to the police, Geza is facing four criminal charges:

  1. Theft Allegations: Under Section 113 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act (Chapter 9:23), Geza is accused of stealing and unlawfully disposing of three vehicles belonging to a complainant without consent.
  2. Undermining the Authority of the President: He faces two counts under Section 33(2)(a)(ii) of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act (Chapter 9:23) for allegedly insulting or undermining President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
  3. Incitement to Commit Public Violence: Under Section 187 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act (Chapter 9:23), Geza is accused of encouraging acts of public unrest.

The charges stem from recent statements made by Geza, in which he reportedly called for President Mnangagwa “to go now.” His remarks have sparked controversy within political circles, further fueling speculation about internal discord within the ruling Zanu PF party.

Police have urged the public to come forward with any information that may lead to Geza’s arrest. Law enforcement officials have also warned that any attempts to obstruct their investigation will not be tolerated.
