The countdown to National Braai Day on October 18 at Glamis Arena is gathering serious momentum, with the Castle Braai micro-braai series igniting excitement across Zimbabwe. Each stop has not only pulled huge crowds but also set the tone for what promises to be the biggest braai and music festival of the year.
On Saturday, September 13, Chitungwiza residents packed into The Monkey Shoulder, where affordable beer, sizzling braais, and non-stop music created an electrifying atmosphere. A rotation of DJs kept energy levels high before dancehall sensation Uncle Epatan and a few rising stars warmed up the stage. But it was hometown favorite Voltz JT who turned the night into a spectacle, with fans echoing every lyric and showering him with special requests. The closing act by Chill Spot Records ensured the party ended on a powerful note.
The following day, the Castle Braai experience shifted to Chipiwa Gardens in Marondera, pulling in over 2,000 fun-seekers eager for the signature Castle mix of beer, barbecue, and beats. DJ Andreas kept the fire burning before organizational hiccups forced a reshuffle. Stepping in, ExQ and his band delivered a masterful performance alongside DJ Tamuka and energetic dancers, turning the venue into a giant sing-along. His set not only saved the evening but raised anticipation for the roadshow’s climax.
When Nisha Ts finally hit the stage, her dramatic arrival added spice to the event. Despite initial friction from her team, she completed her set and closed the night on a high, leaving fans satisfied and talking long after the lights went down.
With the roadshow lined up for 10 cities nationwide, the Castle Braai tour is building more than just hype—it’s crafting a nationwide movement leading into Glamis Arena’s grand finale. Judging by the high-energy turnouts in Chitungwiza and Marondera, October 18 is set to explode into Zimbabwe’s ultimate celebration of beer, music, and barbecue culture.
