Seven parents were detained for unruly behaviour at Prince Edward High School yesterday.
The parents were involved in a ruckus at the school.
Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, a national police spokesperson, confirmed the arrest and stated that investigations had begun.
“Police arrested seven parents following a disturbance at Prince Edward High School,” Ass-Comm Nyathi stated.
“Investigations to determine what exactly happened have begun,” he stated.
Prince Edward School has recently been in the news for all the wrong reasons.
It lost its signature athletic event, the schools rugby festival, which had been conducted for many years at the school.
According to sources, some of the school’s big sponsors were concerned about the negative press.
Recently, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education revealed it launched investigations into headmaster, Agrippa Sora, amid allegations of abuse of school funds.
Some parents sent a petition seeking the Government’s intervention about the issue. The parents also demanded an urgent meeting with Sora and the School Development Committee (SDC).
