‘She Poisoned My Plate!’ Husband Claims Wife Mixed Urine in His Meals

A troubled marriage is nearing collapse amid disturbing accusations between a husband and wife that have left both emotionally and physically scarred.

Artwell Matemera claims his wife, Winny Johannes, has been secretly mixing his food with urine and storing bottles of it in their wardrobe. He says the discovery has left him traumatized — and, according to him, physically affected.

“I haven’t been the same since I found out,” Matemera told the court. “My manhood doesn’t even function anymore.”

The couple’s relationship, already strained by allegations of infidelity on both sides, has now spiraled into mutual accusations of abuse and betrayal.

Matemera, who works in Bindura while Johannes stays in Harare, said the problems began after he caught her cheating.

“After that, she started behaving strangely,” he said. “I found bottles of urine mixed with some kind of powder hidden in our wardrobe. She started sprinkling strange substances on me during intimacy. When I asked her about it, she threatened me with a knife.”

He further claimed that Johannes assaulted him, insulted him over his financial status, and denied him access to their children. Seeking relief, he applied for a protection order, citing both physical and emotional abuse.

Johannes, however, painted a different picture. She accused Matemera of infidelity and of bringing other women into their home.

“Yes, that bottle is mine — but it’s used to store herbal medicine,” she told the court. “I sell herbs. He left me when I was pregnant with twins. He even took my underwear and gave them to his girlfriends.”

She also alleged that Matemera has been spreading rumors in their neighborhood, claiming she infected him with sexually transmitted infections.

As the situation escalated, Magistrate Meenal Narotam urged the couple to seek counseling to address their deep-seated issues. A protection order was granted in favor of Matemera.
