South African Hustlers Lured with $10K to Kidnap Zimbabwean Businessman

South African Hitmen

Five suspected hitmen from South Africa were allegedly lured to Zimbabwe with a promise of $10,000 to kidnap local businessman Oliver Tendai Chipindu, who had lost about $800,000 in a failed gas tank deal.

The suspects, reportedly hired by Obrian Mapurisa, traveled from Cape Town but had difficulty locating Chipindu upon their arrival.

Chipindu was tipped off about the plot by a friend and decided to set a trap by pretending to offer the hitmen the promised payment. He even sent them R15,000 for their bus fare. Once they arrived at a lodge in Avondale, he confronted them about their intentions. South African Hitmen

To his surprise, the suspects openly admitted they were only motivated by money and showed little concern for the reasons behind their mission. They even bragged about being willing to bring Mapurisa to Chipindu “dead or alive.” However, Chipindu made it clear that he wanted no violence, only the return of his funds.

The case was presented in Harare Magistrates Court, where prosecutors submitted recorded conversations as evidence. The defense challenged this, requesting expert analysis to verify the identities of the individuals on the recordings. South African Hitmen
