He noted that local events like the Jacaranda Music Festival not only provide entertainment but also boost tourism and showcase Zimbabwe’s vibrant culture globally. By supporting the festival, Stanbic Bank contributes to employment creation and opportunities for those involved in the event’s value chain.
“Our efforts go beyond entertainment; we are committed to driving economic and cultural development in Zimbabwe. The festival’s regional and international performances reflect our inclusivity mantra, celebrating the diversity and unity of our continent,” Mahatchi added.
He also mentioned that Stanbic Bank would continue its initiative to empower local musicians through a two-day workshop as part of the festival.
“This workshop aims to help musicians and creative artists achieve financial returns and benefits from their work. At Stanbic Bank, innovation is at the forefront, and we seek solutions to industry challenges,” said Mahatchi.
Walter Wanyanya, the festival organizer and Director of Ngoma neHosho, praised Stanbic Bank for its support of arts and culture. Wanyanya commended the bank for its commitment to hosting the music business conference, which precedes the main festival and provides valuable opportunities for industry professionals and aspiring musicians.
Established in 2017, the festival has become a major event in the region, featuring a diverse lineup of musical performances and a food village with specialized vendors.
Wanyanya promised that the 2024 edition would continue showcasing top musical talent from across the region and beyond, with a spotlight on Zimbabwe’s finest performers.
