Starlink Launches Internet Kits in Zimbabwe, Harare CBD Service Restricted

Starlink is now sending its satellite internet kits to Zimbabwe, with the first deliveries arriving as soon as next Wednesday, thanks to DHL.

This follows their recent launch in the country and the creation of new service packages tailored for local needs.

The arrival of Starlink kits is shaking up Zimbabwe’s internet market, especially affecting traditional VSAT providers. Starlink’s fast and reliable internet is popular with remote users and those needing high-speed connections, putting pressure on existing internet service providers.

Starlink has also stopped taking new orders in Harare’s Central Business District and some wealthy neighborhoods because of high demand. Their capacity in these areas is nearly full. They have introduced a 15-minute countdown for the Standard Kit and restricted the Mini package.

If you are affected, you can either use a nearby address within 5 kilometers, pay a $50 deposit to join the waitlist, use the roaming option for $100 per month, or wait for more capacity to become available.
