Temba Mliswa, former Zanu PF Mashonaland West chairperson and ex-Norton legislator, has been elected as the inaugural chairperson of the Southern Africa Development Committee (SADC) Chapter of the African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption (APNAC).
This landmark election occurred during an APNAC conference held in Lusaka, Zambia on Thursday, as confirmed by Mliswa himself on social media. Expressing gratitude for the honor, Mliswa credited his ancestors and expressed humility at the recognition of his leadership qualities.
Acknowledging the significance of his achievement, Mliswa attributed it to his dedicated service at the local political level, emphasizing the importance of recognizing one’s efforts through external acknowledgment.
Mliswa, who now serves as a village headman, extended appreciation to the Parliament of Zimbabwe and Speaker Jacob Mudenda for their guidance and mentorship, recognizing the importance of their role in nurturing parliamentary leadership.

As the newly appointed chairperson of APNAC SADC Chapter, Temba Mliswa underscored the importance of member commitment to combating corruption at both national and regional levels, urging former Zimbabwean Parliament members to join APNAC in this vital endeavor.
The conference was attended by various APNAC members, including the Zambian National Assembly Deputy Speaker Hon. Chisangano, APNAC President and Benin National Assembly Speaker HE Louis Vlavonou, and Mliswa himself, serving as APNAC Board member and chairperson for Mobilisation and Monitoring and Evaluation Committee.
