It seems that while Wicknell Chivayo has moved on with Lucy Muteke, tensions with his ex-wife, Sonja Madzikanda, are far from over.
Madzikanda has hinted at exposing some of the businessman’s deepest secrets, reigniting controversy between the former couple.
Although she initially appeared to support Chivayo’s new relationship, her recent Instagram outburst suggests lingering resentment. The two publicly announced their separation early last year, but Madzikanda’s latest remarks indicate unresolved issues.
“Leave my friends alone, and don’t be surprised. Remember, I warned you. I told you that if you didn’t settle things with me, we would take this public and get Lulu and your relatives to pressure you into doing what’s necessary,” she stated.
Madzikanda took issue with claims that her friends played a role in the breakdown of their marriage. She further alleged that Chivayo had pleaded with her for months to reconcile.
“Wicknell still can’t believe that I ended things publicly. He begged me for months, saying, ‘Just apologize in public, and we can get back together.’ I’ve made it clear that I’m not interested, and he’s still in shock,” she added.
In December, Madzikanda seemed to give her approval for Chivayo to move on.
“If he has found love and wants to be a better man for this woman, then honestly, we should all applaud him. I’m happy that he has moved forward because, from now on, anything related to him in 2025 is no longer my concern.
“I think Lulu is absolutely beautiful. I used to bake scones for her. She and Wicknell will make a lovely couple, and if they get married, good for them,” she remarked.
Over the weekend, Chivayo solidified his new relationship by paying the bride price for Lulu at her family home in Marondera.
