When it comes to the best Attorney General in Africa, no one comes close to Malawi Attorney General Thabo Chikaka Nyirenda.
The African Politicians Forum that is held annually in Dakar Senegal recognised Nyirenda as the top performing Attorney General on the African continent.
This came out of the fifth edition of the African Politicians Forum held to celebrate African leaders who are performing or acting consistently in the best interest of the people.
A 41-year old man full of resilience and who has fought his way to the top, Nyirenda was born and raised in Malawi.
Nyirenda is currently the Attorney General of Malawi. He was appointed in 2021 after President Lazarus Chakwera took office.

Nyirenda attended his primary and secondary education in Malawi before proceeding to the University of Malawi to pursue law then proceeded to the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom to further his studies before returning to his motherland where he has taken law scene by storm.
Nyirenda first captured attention when a group of distinguished lawyers (some advisors to the late Queen of England) praised him as a great source of inspiration during a meeting in London.
Competent and talented, Nyirenda has successfully managed to match veteran lawyers, with decades of experience, toe to toe.
One of the seasoned lawyers Jackson Omondi stated: ” Mr Nyirenda is a young man but he has managed to inspire many people including me to be the best that I can be. He is proof that anything is possible and we should reach for the stars.”
Another veteran lawyer Christine Pratt weighed in: ” Mr Nyirenda has taught me as a lawyer that I can use my gifts to be of service to humanity. He has taught me that anything is possible.”
Nyirenda is one of the youngest Attorney Generals in Africa and is known for his hard work and humility. He represents a symbol of excellence in the African continent.
Sudan’s former Information Cabinet Secretary Emmanuel Sunday De John said:” Thabo Nyirenda’s delivery is unmatched, his competence and diligence in handling cases is really admirable and he represents Malawi well on a global scale. I have met many leaders but none comes close to Thabo’s winning streak when it comes to winning cases for his country”
Another African leader, Ambassador. Julius Bitok from Kenya said: “As African leaders we look up to him and admire the work he is doing. He has set the standard for African leaders on the continent. He has challenged us to do our work well and embrace exemplary performance.”
Albert Muchanga a Zambian national who is the new commissioner for Trade and Industry of the African Union Commission, said: “Thabo has really set the bar high for Attorney Generals in Africa. He is performance oriented and has really challenged us as African leaders to do better for our countries.”
