Harare | The local movie ‘Shaina’ will be on Netflix this month on November 29. The movie becomes the second local movie, after “Cookoff,” to feature on the streaming service.
Shaina is part of a media initiative to empower adolescent girls and young women in Sub-Saharan Africa by USAID.
The 2020 production tells the story of a group of friends who encounter life-changing obstacles that mirror the day-to-day challenges faced by many adolescent girls in Zimbabwe.
It is a story of forgiveness, friendship, resilience and determination.
The movie was produced by Quizzical Pictures, written by Wanisai Chigwendere, and directed by Beautie Masvaure.
