Lorraine Maponga, a thigh vendor, has been detained after appearing in court on charges of aiding a rap*st in assaulting her friend’s teenage sister.
The incident unfolded when the 13-year-old victim, entrusted with $20 by her mother, failed to return the money as promised. Fearing punishment, the child fled home and began returning only when others were asleep.
On April 19, the girl spent the night at Maponga’s residence. That night, Maponga arrived with two men, instructing the victim to obey their commands. Allegedly, the men were given permission by Maponga to engage in s3xual activities with the child, resulting in a distressing ordeal for the victim.
The following day, upon returning home, the victim disclosed the rape to her mother, leading to police involvement and a subsequent mental examination.

Maponga, facing serious charges, was advised to seek bail from the High Court due to the gravity of the offense.
In a recent incident in Mberengwa, Midlands Province, the police are looking into a troubling case. A group of five individuals attacked a thigh vendor who was staying in a lodge with a client. They robbed both the s3x worker and her client before subjecting the s3x worker to rape.
This disturbing event took place on November 8, 2023, around 3 am in Mberengwa.
Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, the spokesperson for Midlands Police, has confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway.
