Three Men Suspected Of Car Robberies In Chitungwiza, Ruwa Arrested

Three men suspected of orchestrating a series of car robberies in Chitungwiza and Ruwa have been apprehended and charged with the theft of five vehicles.

Day Kaseke, Munyaradzi Mwanjere, and Pardon Tawanda Waterbuck appeared before Magistrate Stanford Mambanje to face multiple counts of car robbery.

According to court proceedings, the trio allegedly targeted Takudzwa Kamudiro outside Pick and Pay Ruwa, forcibly removing him from his Toyota Sienta before fleeing with the vehicle.

Additionally, they are accused of robbing Knowledge Chamakore of his silver Honda Fit at Velvet Service Station in Chitungwiza, as well as Marvel Tongai Chinhanga of his white Toyota Sienta in Chizhanje, Mabvuku. Another victim, Johannes Mashiri, reportedly had his Toyota Sienta stolen along Seke Road, near Koala Abattoirs.

The suspects have been remanded in custody pending further legal proceedings and have been advised to seek bail considerations from the High Court.

In another story, Police in Bulawayo have apprehended four individuals found in possession of five tonnes of copper cables in Mahatshula.

The suspects, Tracy Ncube, Tapfumaneyi Muzarabani, Alan Mudyiwa, and Hebron Chiyangwa, including a woman, are set to appear in court today, facing potential 10-year prison terms each if convicted of vandalism.

Incidents of copper cable theft have been on the rise in Bulawayo and surrounding areas, with several reports indicating a surge in such criminal activities.
