In a disturbing incident, two armed robbers Jerry Wonder Siziba (28) and Cohen Muleya targeted a traditional healer, posing as clients seeking spiritual services, and made off with R3,000 in cash.
Jerry Wonder Siziba and Cohen Muleya appeared before the Beitbridge Magistrates’ Court facing charges of robbery, as confirmed by the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ).
According to the NPAZ, the accused individuals approached the traditional healer and her male relative on January 11, 2024, under the pretense of seeking spiritual healing.
Once inside, they demanded money from the healer and proceeded to assault her. One of the robbers brandished a firearm, compelling the victim to surrender ZAR3,000.

Furthermore, the robbers confiscated the male relative’s phone before fleeing the scene upon noticing a neighbor approaching the homestead.
The following day, while the victims were conducting inquiries, they spotted Siziba at Mutetengwe Business Centre and promptly reported him to the authorities. Upon arrest, a search of Siziba’s person yielded the recovery of the victim’s mobile phone.
Siziba was subsequently sentenced to 12 years in prison, while Muleya was acquitted of the charges. This incident underscores the vulnerability of individuals seeking assistance from traditional healers and highlights the need for heightened vigilance and security measures to safeguard against such criminal acts.
