Mazowe, Zimbabwe – Police in Mazowe have initiated a full investigation following a fatal explosion at Kwayedza Investments Mine on Friday, July 11, 2025, which claimed the lives of two men.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) reported that the blast occurred as the victims were warming themselves by a fire. Their identities are being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
One individual tragically died at the scene of the explosion, while the second succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transported to a medical facility in Concession.
Authorities have stated that the precise cause of the explosion has not yet been determined, and investigations are actively underway.
