University Professor Poisoned at Madzibaba Ishmael’s shrine, Postmortem Reveals
The mysterious death of a University of Zimbabwe professor, which remained unresolved for about two years, has taken a grim turn as postmortem results indicate that he was poisoned at Madzibaba Ishmael’s shrine.
The shocking revelation came to light when the postmortem results were finally delivered to the late professor’s family on Monday. Surprisingly, these results had been kept at Nyabira Police Station for the past two years, raising questions about the delay in providing crucial information regarding the cause of death.
Professor Muwati’s family is now grappling with not only the tragic loss but also the disappearance of valuable assets belonging to the deceased. They are seeking to recover 30 cattle, two vehicles (including a Honda Fit), and a grinding mill that they claim were owned by the late professor but vanished after his demise.
The late professor is just one among many individuals believed to have been buried without proper authorization at the compound located at Lily Farm in Nyabira. This revelation has sparked concerns about possible irregularities and lack of oversight in burial practices at the shrine.
According to the family, their suspicions of foul play initially led them to attempt filing a police report against Madzibaba Ishmael. However, their efforts were reportedly met with obstacles and frustration by the authorities at Nyabira Police Station.
Subsequently, the family took the drastic step of exhuming the professor’s body and arranging for a reburial at his rural home in Mhondoro-Ngezi.
Martin Muwati, the spokesperson for the Muwati family, expressed their determination to retrieve the late professor’s belongings from the compound, signaling a new chapter in their quest for justice and closure regarding his untimely death.
