Vic Falls man takes own life as mysterious skeleton is found in Matetsi

Kuwadzana Man Kills Self After Prophecy

A 22-year-old Victoria Falls man, Methembe Ncube, committed suicide on Sunday by hanging himself with twined shoelaces.

Before taking his life, he sent farewell messages to several people without revealing the reason.

Methembe resided in Mfelandawonye suburb and also had a residence in Ndlovu village.

A madzibaba man discovered his body near a school in the area after a prayer session.

In an interview, relative Raphael Dube stated that the cause of death is unknown, but stress is suspected.

Methembe lived with a friend and operated a vending machine and moderated snooker games at Landela Complex.

He had saved money with an unknown person, who became unreachable, causing concern.

“On Saturday, Methembe’s friend attended an all-night prayer, while he stayed home, which was unusual,” Dube said.

“The next day, he had breakfast at a relative’s house before taking his life. He left a message for his friend, urging him to be strong.

“After discovering the message, his friend who was still in church immediately came home, but couldn’t reach him,”

A few hours later, Dube said they found out that Methembe’s body had been discovered by a madzibaba hanging from a tree.

“He had used his shoelaces, and that is sad because he never showed any signs of stress.”

The police took the body to Victoria Falls mortuary, and Methembe will be laid to rest in Lupane, Gwampa village on Thursday.

In a separate incident, villagers in Matetsi found the skeletal remains of a man who allegedly hanged himself in a tree along the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls road.

He was wearing an AC Milan hat, and it’s suspected that he took his life during the rain season last year or early this year.
