Victor Kunonga Unveils His Latest Album
Afro-jazz enthusiasts are in for an extraordinary evening as Victor Kunonga prepares to unveil his latest album, “Induna,” to his eager fans.
The highly anticipated launch is scheduled to take place at the prestigious Sherwood Golf Club in Mabelreign, Harare.
Standard admission is priced at $10, while VIP tickets are available for $20.
Although Victor Kunonga first gained prominence in 2004, it was his initial two albums, “Such Is Life” and “Uyo,” that catapulted him to stardom, solidifying his status as a household name by 2007.

With “Induna,” Kunonga aims to captivate audiences once again, infusing the album with elements of amapiano and a rich blend of Shona and Ndebele melodies that resonate with his cultural heritage.
Speaking to reporters in anticipation of the album launch, Kunonga revealed that the album draws its title from one of its tracks, “Induna,” which portrays the journey of a young man envisioning his future as a chief, aspiring to bask in the privileges that accompany such a position.
“Induna, I wrote this song five years ago and developed the idea over the years,” he said. “Why this song is very special to me is, when I was developing the idea, my mother came through and she heard the song and she started to dance to it.
“I am singing about Induna, this young man looking into the future hoping that one day he will become a chief and en-joy the privileges that come with being a chief and comically saying “look I will have the privilege to choose all the beautiful women”. That is how ‘Induna’ came to be the name of the album.” Kunonga said the album and his music were inspired by his upbringing and rural background such as traditional ceremonies like biras.
