Watch As Minister Machakaire Gifts Alick Macheso US$10K at His 13th Album Launch

In a grand gesture, Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation Tino Machakaire blessed Sungura legend Alick Macheso with a whopping US$10k.

Minister Machakaire gifted Alick Macheso the money during his impressive 13th album launch at Alex Sports Club.

Alick Macheso launched his much-anticipated album, titled ‘Kupa Kuturika,’ last night.

The sungura maestro filled up Alex Sports Club as scores of fans thronged his album launch event. He performed songs from his new album, which features six tracks: “Kuverengera,” “Undiregererewo,” “Zvichada Hama,” “Murangarire,” “Kunditaya,” and “Hunhu Hwakashata.”

So impressive was his performance that Minister Machakaire decided to generously gift him US$10k. Minister Machakaire expressed his admiration for Alick Macheso and his music, revealing that they are best friends. He also stated his intention to keep on supporting Macheso and wished him well as he gifted him the money.

“Makorokoto BaShero. May God Bless you. We love you. We wish you the best. Ndai Mwari akuyitira zvakanaka. We love you ma fans aBaShero. May God bless you all. We love you, we are one family,” he said.

Alick Macheso expressed gratitude to Minister Machakaire and jokingly revealed that the Minister promised him a truck.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time Minister Machakaire has shown his appreciation for Alick Macheso with a grand gesture.

In 2022, Minister Machakaire bought Alick Macheso’s 12th album, Tinosvitswa Nashe, for US$10,000. He made this purchase during Macheso’s executive album launch at Rainbow Towers.

Speaking after buying the CD, Minister Machakaire described the purchase as a token of appreciation for the music legend.

I have known @alickmacheso for a very long time. In all my interactions with him with him, he is very humble and respectful. The CD that I purchased tonight goes beyond just paying for music but it is my token of appreciation to the Living Legend. May he live long !
