WATCH: Authorities Exhume Hazel Chikurume’s (27) Body Buried Without the Knowledge of her Mother at Madzibaba Ishmael’s Shrine

The body of Hazel Chikurume (27) has been exhumed today at Liliy Farm (KuCanan). She was buried without the knowledge of her mother Memory Chikurume.

A video has surfaced showing officials being led by a member of Madzibaba Ishmael’s group to a grave where Hazel Chikurume was buried.

According to the revelations, Madzibaba Ishmael had a history of burying children without seeking consent from their parents or informing them about the burials. This disturbing discovery has sparked widespread concern and calls for a thorough investigation into the practices carried out at the shrine. Authorities are working to gather more information and ensure that justice is served in this troubling case.

However, the trial for Madzibaba Ishmael Chokurongerwa, a cult leader, and his seven associates is scheduled to commence today after they were denied bail last month by Norton Magistrate Christine Nyandoro. Currently, they have petitioned the High Court for bail, with Justice Rodgers Manyangadze presiding over the case and expected to render a decision.

Their bail was initially denied by the magistrate’s court citing concerns over potential public outcry due to the gravity of the charges they face.

Madzibaba Ishmael and his cohorts are accused of violating Section 3(1) and (2) of the Burial and Cremation Act 5:03, as well as Section 7(1) and (5) of the Children’s Act 5:06.
