A 36-year-old Waterfalls man was detained on Friday after being accused of raping a fourth-grader.
It is stated that Isdore Tendai Kamusunda brought his neighbor’s little daughter into his home and raped her twice there.
Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, the spokesperson for the Harare Provincial Police, confirmed the arrest and asked parents and guardians to keep a tight eye on their kids.
“Around six o’clock on September 9th, the accused called the girl to his home.
“He shut the door, pulled out a knife, and raped her while threatening to murder her if she shouted.
“He further intimidated her, telling her not to tell anybody about the situation.
“The accused person then released the girl and she never disclosed the matter due to fear.
“On September 11 at around 7pm, the accused person called the girl into his room and raped her again without protection.
“One of her friends noticed some behavioural changes and questioned her, and she revealed the matter leading to the arrest,” said Insp Chakanza.
