Waterfalls Man Kills Son for Failing Police Recruitment Test

Waterfalls Man Kills Son for Failing Police Recruitment Test

A 41-year-old man from Waterfalls, Gibson Munyoro, has been arrested for allegedly beating his 19-year-old son, Ngonidzashe Munyoro, to death on Sunday. The horrific assault reportedly occurred after the son failed to pass the police recruitment tests.

According to reports, Ngonidzashe was sent for police interviews on July 29, 2025. He was sent back home a few days later, on August 2, after being deemed unfit for duty. His father, Gibson, was reportedly enraged by his son’s failure.

Gibson allegedly tied his son’s hands and legs, suspended him between two tables, and brutally assaulted him with a baton stick. The attack only stopped when Ngonidzashe’s mother, Ruvimbo Masunga, arrived and intervened. She and others rushed the severely injured young man into the house, where he tragically died.

Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the incident, stating that a murder investigation is underway.
