A 14-year marriage has ended after a woman discovered explicit content depicting her husband engaging in mjolo activity with her sister. This betrayal led to a violent confrontation, culminating in the husband physically assaulting his wife and forcibly removing her from their South African home.
Abigail Jasi sought legal protection from the Harare Civil Court against her estranged husband, Malcom Moto, alleging continued harassment and threats.
“I felt deeply betrayed not only by my husband but also by my own sister,” she stated, her voice trembling with emotion. “The discovery of intimate videos and photos depicting my husband’s infidelity shattered me.”
Instead of expressing remorse, Malcom resorted to violence, physically assaulting Jasi and forcing her to leave their home. This left her and her children destitute, living on the streets.
“Fearing for my safety and the well-being of my children, I made the difficult decision to leave the abusive marriage and rebuild my life in Zimbabwe,” Jasi explained.

She revealed that Malcom had a history of abusive behavior and infidelity, but she endured the marriage in the hopes of providing stability for her children. “I eventually realized that remaining in the relationship was endangering myself and my children,” she admitted.
Following her departure, Malcom pursued her to Zimbabwe, subjecting her to harassment and threats demanding the return of their children.
In response, Malcom acknowledged his wrongdoing but expressed a desire to reconcile. “I deeply regret my actions, but I cannot allow our 14-year marriage to simply end,” he stated. “My primary goal is to reunite with my family, but my wife fled with our children on December 3rd of last year.” He further lamented being denied contact with his children, stating that Jasi had blocked all communication.
“I love my wife dearly and sincerely apologize for my actions,” he concluded.
Magistrate Meenal Naratom granted Jasi a protection order, instructing Malcom to cease all contact with his estranged wife. The magistrate also advised Malcom to seek legal resolution regarding child custody through the Children’s Court.
