Winky D’s supporters are voicing their dissatisfaction over his inclusion in the same category as Comedian Mai Kirifodi and Holy Ten for the ‘People’s Choice’ awards. The lineup for this category includes Hip-hop stars such as Voltz Jt, Saint Floew, Holy Ten, the Zimdancehall icon Winky D, and comedien Mai Kirifodhi.
Expressing their frustration online, Winky D’s fans argue that placing their favorite artist alongside an emerging comedian is disrespectful. Bright Mafuku, sharing his thoughts on Facebook, emphasized Winky D’s status as an internationally acclaimed artist, stating, “Winky D DiBigman is an International Award Winning Artist. Zimbabweans, please take this seriously!”

Others echoed similar sentiments, with one user expressing discontent on behalf of various groups, including members of parliament, judges, human rights advocates, and Winky D’s fan base. Taku Tailor commented on the perceived efforts of the NAMA Awards organizers to undermine Winky D, asserting, “They are making every effort to undermine him, but right now, he stands far above your so-called MAMA.”
The consensus among Winky D’s supporters is that his stature surpasses that of the category he’s been placed in, and they perceive the decision as an attempt to discredit his achievements.
