South African singer Zandie Khumalo has once again made it clear that she stands firm in her position regarding the ongoing investigation into the murder of former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa. Despite enduring public criticism, Zandie, along with her sister Kelly Khumalo, has remained in the spotlight throughout the controversy.
Addressing the matter on Instagram, Zandie vehemently denied any involvement in Meyiwa’s death. In response to a question about whether she would apologize if Kelly is found guilty, Zandie firmly stated, “I’m not gonna apologize to South Africans for anything.”
She continued, “I never lied under oath. I gave my testimony to the best of my ability and recollection. I was never part of any planning or masterminding to kill Senzo if such a thing ever happened.”
This statement comes weeks after Zandie publicly expressed her belief that Kelly was not capable of orchestrating Senzo’s death. Zandie also suggested that the focus of the investigation should shift to Senzo’s ex-wife, Mandisa Meyiwa.
“If my suspicions are proven wrong, I will apologize to her. But that apology will only come after Mandisa is publicly cleared of any involvement,” Zandie clarified.
Zandie reiterated her confidence in Kelly’s innocence, saying, “I am 200% sure that Kelly had nothing to do with this. She is highly incapable of such.”
Zandie’s call for justice for Meyiwa has been accompanied by frustration over public speculation and the spread of false narratives. She emphasized, “We want justice, no playing around.” Despite the twists and turns of the investigation into Senzo Meyiwa’s murder, Zandie remains steadfast in her pursuit of truth.
