ZANU PF Develops Social Media Policy to Prevent Misuse and Division

ZANU PF is in the process of drafting a social media policy aimed at regulating the use of digital platforms to prevent misuse and internal divisions within the party.

This development was disclosed during the Mount Darwin inter-district conference held on Saturday, where party officials emphasized the importance of unity and responsible communication.

As part of its outreach efforts, the ruling party has been engaging supporters in the district to discuss the outcomes of the National People’s Conference held in Bulawayo last year.

ZANU PF National Political Commissar, Cde Munyaradzi Machacha, urged members to be cautious of social media narratives designed to create rifts within the party’s leadership.

“The party is working on a social media policy to distinguish official party communications from content driven by opposition forces. Our focus should be on national development and improving livelihoods, rather than being drawn into endless political contests,” said Cde Machacha.

Meanwhile, ZANU PF Mashonaland Central Province Deputy Chairman, Cde Christopher Magomo, reminded attendees that the resolution to support President Mnangagwa’s leadership until 2030 had been endorsed at the Bulawayo conference.

“Once a resolution is made at the conference, it becomes party policy. We all agreed that President Mnangagwa should remain in office until 2030. Anyone who does not support this ceases to be a party member and aligns with opposition forces,” he stated.

War veterans and youth league representatives applauded President Mnangagwa for spearheading empowerment initiatives aimed at improving their livelihoods.

“For the first time in history, war veterans have been included in a broad-based empowerment program,” said ZANU PF Mashonaland Central Province Youth League Chairperson, Cde Emmerson Raradza.

ZANU PF Mashonaland Central Province War Veterans League Chairperson, Cde Martin Kwainona, also expressed gratitude for ongoing economic empowerment programs, including the distribution of heifers and poultry projects initiated by the President. He highlighted that Rushinga district had received 500 chicks the previous day, while Mount Darwin was set to receive 1,200.
