Zimbabwean and South African security forces have collaborated to dismantle illegal bridges spanning the Limpopo River, the natural boundary between the two nations, and have seized significant quantities of smuggled goods over the past three weeks.
In Zimbabwe, immigration officers are handling cases of child trafficking while the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) is taking strong action against import duty evasion and the smuggling of items that are illegal.
Between March 26 and April 5, 59 illegal immigrants were apprehended at the Beitbridge Border Post, according to the Assistant Regional Immigration Officer in Beitbridge Canisia Magaya, who spoke with state media. While some border jumpers had crossed into Zimbabwe, others were headed to South Africa. Magaya said:

Seven cross-border transport companies were also penalised for providing assistance to unauthorised migrants. In the same time frame, police detained three Congolese nationals and ten undocumented Malawians, who are currently being prosecuted.
Magaya underlined how frequently kids travel between the two nations, especially during public and school vacations, and how crucial it is to have the right paperwork. She listed the prerequisites for guardians taking minors on trips: copies of birth certificates, valid passports, and affidavits from parents who aren’t going, along with copies of their ID and passport. Zimbabwe and South Africa
