ZimParks Boss Nomsa Chitsaka In Bigamy Storm, Wedding Stopped as Detective Declares Marriage Illegal

Wedza, Zimbabwe | A traditional lobola ceremony in Wedza turned into a dramatic scandal when a private detective made a shocking revelation, leaving guests stunned and a viral video sparking nationwide discussion.

Nomsa Chitsaka, Director of Commercial Services at the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks), was set to tie the knot in a private ceremony when private detective Tafadzwa Chidawa intervened, claiming that both Chitsaka and her fiancé were still legally married to other people.

The unexpected revelation threw the ceremony into chaos. In a video that has since gone viral, Chidawa stated, “Both individuals are still legally married,” sending shockwaves through the gathered crowd.

Although Chidawa did not initially name the couple, investigative efforts by iHarare confirmed the bride-to-be as Chitsaka, a prominent figure in Zimbabwe’s wildlife management sector.

Reports have since emerged that Chitsaka previously had a lavish white wedding, which resulted in two children. Since this marriage remains legally valid, her planned nuptials would constitute bigamy under Zimbabwean law.

Chidawa disclosed that he was hired by the wife of Chitsaka’s fiancé, who sought to prevent the marriage from proceeding. Acting on her instructions, Chidawa approached Chitsaka’s father at the ceremony to deliver a warning. “If this marriage is carried out,” Chidawa said, “both parties may face charges of bigamy.”

He cited the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, which explicitly prohibits individuals from remarrying while still legally married.

According to Chidawa, upon learning of his presence, Chitsaka attempted to enlist the help of a senior official in the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) to allow the ceremony to continue. However, the officer reportedly refused to intervene, stating he would not “help break the law.”

Chidawa’s bombshell revelations have sparked widespread discussion online, with the viral video fueling intense debate about the legal and moral implications of the case. “I will share more information about this case,” Chidawa promised, leaving the public eagerly awaiting further updates.

Under Zimbabwean law, bigamy is a criminal offense punishable by fines or imprisonment. If Chitsaka and her fiancé were to proceed with their marriage, they could face serious legal consequences.

This dramatic turn of events has cast a spotlight on both the private lives of public figures and the enforcement of marriage laws in Zimbabwe, leaving the nation engrossed in what has become one of the most talked-about scandals of the year.
