Zimunya Teacher Found Dead in School Residence

Two Feared Dead In Deadly Mazowe Mine Explosion

A teacher at Derembwe Primary School in Zimunya, Mutare, Bothwell Chigweshe, was discovered dead in his school residence on Sunday evening. Police have ruled out any foul play in the incident.

Manicaland Acting Police Spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, confirmed to Chipinge Times that Chigweshe had gone to bed in an intoxicated state around 3 PM on Saturday.

Later that night, his housemaid, Shamiso Ruvivi, reportedly heard strange sounds coming from his room and alerted another teacher, Mary Murehwe (34). Upon checking, Murehwe found that Chigweshe had already died.

A report was promptly filed at Muromo Police Post, and officers attended the scene. According to the police, there were no visible injuries on the deceased’s body.

Chigweshe’s remains were later transferred to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.
