A 39-year-old man is charged with 15 years in prison for r*ping a 26-year-old lady in Plumtree, Bulilima District, Matabeleland South Province, when she was intoxicated.
On April 6, 2024, after a night of partying at Dingumuzi Bar, the victim was inebriated, and the unidentified criminal took advantage of this. The accused took advantage of the complainant’s extreme drunkenness, which made it impossible for her to walk, and s*xually assaulted her in a private place close to the bar.
Luckily, someone saw the attack and quickly told the pub owner, who notified the local police. The offender was therefore found and hauled before the judge. He was subsequently found guilty and given a 15-year prison sentence.

In another story, A 28-year-old Wedza uncle and his niece (20) were sentenced to 15 years in prison each at Marondera Magistrates’ Court after they were found guilty of r*pe and setting up a neighbour for r*pe, respectively.
The woman charged that she set up her 15-year-old neighbour to be r*ped by her uncle. In Wedza, on the 27th of January 2024, the niece approached the complainant, pretending that she wanted to sleep over at the girl’s house. The second accused gave the excuse that her grandmother was not around and she was afraid to sleep alone.
