Beitbridge Sodomy: Two Men Fined US$150 Each or Face 120 Days in Prison

Two individuals, Ayanda Nkomo, aged 26, and Will Jaricha, aged 28, hailing from Beitbridge, were each fined US$150 or sentenced to 120 days’ imprisonment for engaging in sodomy.

According to court proceedings, the incident occurred on Sunday while the two were consuming beer at Konka Night Club in Beitbridge. At approximately 11:40 PM, they exited the establishment and proceeded to a nearby restroom, displaying affectionate behavior towards each other.

Observing their actions, two security personnel from the nightclub grew suspicious and trailed them. Upon investigation, they discovered Ayanda Nkomo and Will engaged in intimate gestures and kissing.

Ayanda attempted to evade capture but was apprehended by the guards, who promptly handed them over to the authorities.

In a separate legal matter, a 52-year-old inmate serving time at Mutare Farm Prison received an additional 16-year sentence for offenses involving indecent assault and aggravated indecent assault.

The inmate in question had in November of the previous year, inappropriately touched another prisoner’s buttocks, even going so far as to lower the individual’s trousers and underwear. This led to his arrest following a similar incident on January 3rd.
