Dynamos and FC Platinum drop points, Ngezi Platinum Stars close in on the PSL title

On Wednesday, November 9, at Baobab Stadium, Ngezi Platinum Stars defeated Sheasham 2-1 to take a step closer to winning their first-ever Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL).

With three games remaining in the current season, Ngezi, who currently have 60 points, needs just three more points to win the 2023 PSL championship.

If Madamburo wins this weekend’s next match, they will have an unbeatable 63 points.

After defeating Simba Bhora 1-0 in yesterday’s game at Gibbo Stadium, Manica Diamonds, in second position, have 53 points, with 62 being their maximum.

If their near rivals give up points along the way, Ngezi can still win the championship without even won a single game in their previous three matches.

In a different match on Saturday, Dynamos played to a scoreless tie at Mandava Stadium against champions FC Platinum, continuing their run of bad results.

DeMbare slid to third place in the log standings with 51 points, and if Bosso defeats Triangle at Gibbo Stadium this Thursday, they risk losing that spot to rivals Highlanders, who have 49 points.

Herentals defeated Cranborne Bullets 2-1 at the National Sports Stadium in the other games on Wednesday.

Black Rhinos defeated Yadah 1-0 at Luveve Stadium, while Chicken Inn and Green Fuel tied 1-1.

The game was played in Nyamhunga Stadium in the resort town, where ZPC Kariba defeated Hwange 1-0.
