EPWORTH – Police have arrested a 31-year-old woman in Epworth following the fatal stabbing of her husband during a heated domestic dispute at their home in Jacha area on Monday.
The suspect, Forget Chikoto (31), allegedly turned a kitchen knife on her husband, Tinashe Sadzamare (35), inflicting a fatal neck wound after he accused her of infidelity.
Sadzamare sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby medical facility, but succumbed to the wound shortly after arrival.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest and urged members of the public to resolve marital grievances without resorting to violence.
”Police in Epworth arrested Forget Chikoto (31) in connection with a case of murder which occurred at a house at Jacha area on 05/10/26,” the Zimbabwe Republic Police stated. “The suspect allegedly stabbed her husband, Tinashe Sadzamare (35) on the neck with a kitchen knife after a domestic dispute in which the victim accused her of infidelity. The victim died upon arrival at a local clinic in Epworth.”
Chikoto is currently in police custody assisting with investigations and is expected to appear in court soon facing murder charges.
