Everton Survive As Leicester City and Leeds United Are Relegated from Premier League

Leicester, who won the championship just seven years ago, defeated West Ham 2-1, but Everton’s victory prevented them from being guaranteed safety.

At Goodison Park, the Toffees defeated Bournemouth 1-0 to assure their survival. One of just six clubs that have avoided been demoted from the Premier League since its inception, they are still today.

Sean Dyche, the manager of Everton, said to Sky Sports: “Obviously, it means a lot. I assumed control of the club they described as broken. It’s not damaged. Although there are cracks, it is not broken. We’ve demonstrated the tenacity we required.

“However, I reminded the players that they shouldn’t be in this situation and that we need to grow. The upcoming season will be very significant. It’s a magic day but at the end of the day we shouldn’t be in this shape.”

Despite Harry Kane’s double, Spurs are still unable to qualify for Europe.

“It’s very sad for the club getting relegated after working so hard to get back in the Premier League for so long,” remarked Leeds manager Sam Allardyce. Everyone needs to plan the rebuild extremely carefully for the upcoming season.

Jack Harrison, a winger for Leeds, continued, “It’s difficult what’s going through my head right now. As a team, we were aware of what was at stake and strove to give it our all.

“Our failure was not due to the intensity and aggressiveness required by the game; we usually bring that. It was simply a few minor issues, but it’s unfortunate. Just keep an eye on the horizon.
