A suspected thief from Fort Rixon Village met a gruesome end when he was reportedly axed to death by four men following an argument over a missing mobile phone at a local beerhall.
According to reports, the altercation between the quartet and the deceased escalated when they accused him of stealing the cellphone. It’s alleged that the four men wielded an axe during the confrontation, striking the suspected thief on the head and resulting in his immediate death.
After the incident, the perpetrators purportedly disposed of the body in a nearby bush in Fort Rixon Village.
Police have confirmed the murder on their official X page and are currently investigating the case.
Additionally, authorities are looking into the circumstances surrounding the death of Munyaradzi Masango (46), who was found deceased with two stab wounds to the chest in a house in Entumbane, Bulawayo.

Investigations are also ongoing regarding the murder of John Machasi, whose body was discovered along a road in Ruwa. Authorities are urging anyone with information about Machasi’s case to come forward and assist with the investigation.
In another story, A suspected armed robber appeared in court yesterday for allegedly killing a passer-by only to be caught while selling the deceased phone.
Tendai Mafidi (29) appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Dennis Mangosi charged with murder.
He was advised to apply for bail at the High Court and returns to court on April 12.
Prosecutor Mr Rufaro Chonzi alleged that on January 11 at around 10pm Mafidi met now deceased Ngonidzashe Chabvuta who was walking along the road near house number 34266 East View in Harare….read in full
