ZANU PF Confident of Victory in Harare By-Elections

ZANU PF National Political Commissar, Cde Mike Bimha, expressed confidence in the party’s prospects for victory in the upcoming Harare Parliamentary by-elections. The elections, scheduled for this weekend, will be held in Mt Pleasant and Harare East constituencies, alongside councillor voting in Kwekwe Ward 3 and Lupane Ward 13.

Cde Bimha highlighted ZANU PF’s track record of success in previous by-elections since last August’s general elections. He emphasized the electorate’s continued support for ZANU PF candidates to uphold the developmental progress under the leadership of President Mnangagwa and the Second Republic.

Regarding the upcoming elections, Cde Bimha assured readiness on the party’s part, stating that campaigns are ongoing following the completion of candidate nominations. He underscored the importance of voting for ZANU PF candidates, citing the party’s understanding of the people’s needs.

Cde Kelvin Mutimbanyoka, ZANU PF’s candidate for Harare East constituency, outlined his plans to improve the lives of constituents, focusing on issues such as water accessibility, healthcare affordability, road rehabilitation, and education support for the underprivileged. He emphasized the party’s commitment to fulfilling its promises to the people.

In Mt Pleasant Constituency, Cde George Mashavave will contest against independent candidates Mr Naison Mamutse and Mr Brian Ticky. The vacancies in both constituencies arose from the resignations of Ms Fadzai Mahere and Mr Rusty Markham, who had been elected on a different party ticket but resigned in solidarity with a different political faction.
