Garwe Pushes for Mnangagwa’s Term Extension, Pledges Perks for Civil Servants

Local Government and Public Works Minister, Daniel Garwe, has pledged to provide civil servants with free Wi-Fi and residential stands while defending his efforts to extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s leadership beyond 2028, when his current term concludes, according to *Bulawayo24*.

Garwe, a staunch supporter of the ED2030 agenda, has frequently likened Mnangagwa to the biblical Moses, asserting that he was divinely appointed to lead Zimbabwe’s transformation.

Addressing a gathering in Mahusekwa, Mashonaland East Province, Garwe promised free Wi-Fi access to young civil servants, who are expected to acquire homes within a planned 250,000-unit luxury gated community developed by businessman Phillip Chiyangwa.

Chiyangwa, who was present at the event, highlighted that his company, Pinnacle Property Holdings, had secured a government-backed deal enabling civil servants to reside in the development and eventually own the properties.

Garwe further insisted that Mnangagwa was the only suitable leader to continue governing Zimbabwe beyond 2030. He outlined the government’s plans, emphasizing the importance of structured human settlements equipped with proper roads, sewage systems, water supply, electricity, and Wi-Fi.

He also stressed the need to eliminate land barons by providing well-planned, legally recognized housing developments where buyers could obtain title deeds upon making payments.

Garwe reiterated that the initiative aimed to benefit both civil servants and the general public, ensuring that no one was excluded. He emphasized that the project aligned with Mnangagwa’s national development vision and justified calls for his continued leadership to achieve the set goals.

Chiyangwa reaffirmed that both government workers and ordinary Zimbabweans would have the chance to purchase units in the gated community, gaining full ownership once they fulfilled the agreed payment conditions.
