GLEN View North legislator Happymore Chidziva has been engulfed in a rape storm. He appeared in court yesterday facing rape charges and was remanded in custory to October 10.
Chidziva appeared before regional magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa. He was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
According to the State, Chidziva called the complainant sometime in April and asked to meet her in the Harare Central Business District where he picked her up.
He allegedly then asked her to escort him to a hotel. They went into a room and Chidziva allegedly asked to sleep with her and she refused.
The State alleges that Chidziva went on to force himself on the woman and gave her US$25. The two hired a taxi towards Glen View and Chidziva disembarked along Willowvale Road and the woman proceeded with the journey.
The following morning Chidziva sent a message ordering the woman to buy some morning after pills. She then told her cousin and they went to buy the pills and she took them.
