Harare | Chaos and Horror erupted at the esteemed Casino Marina last Friday night. What began as a dispute over a game quickly escalated into a scene straight out of a Hollywood thriller, with Club Zone owner Blessed Kazembe, fondly known as JB, at the center of the storm.
Eyewitnesses recount the dramatic events that unfolded around 1 am when tensions flared between Kazembe and another patron, Marlon, sparking a physical altercation that left Kazembe overpowered. As security moved in to diffuse the situation, it seemed like the end of the conflict. Little did they know, it was just the beginning.
Fuelled by a cocktail of anger and humiliation, Kazembe retreated momentarily, only to return wielding a loaded firearm. The mere sight of the weapon sent shockwaves through the casino, as security scrambled to contain the escalating threat. What followed was a harrowing ordeal as Kazembe, fueled by rage, demanded reentry into the premises, his intentions ominous as he searched for Marlon.
Witnesses describe a scene of pandemonium as Kazembe, with gun in hand, stormed back into the casino, his shouts piercing through the chaos. Fear gripped patrons and employees alike as they fled from the impending danger, leaving behind a scene of utter turmoil.
As the situation spiraled out of control, backup was called, but even they couldn’t contain the frenzy that ensued. Allegations of further violence emerged as hired bouncers joined the fray, assaulting anyone who crossed their path in a frenzied search for Marlon. In a desperate attempt to evade accountability, Kazembe reportedly invoked his purported connections to the first family, adding a political dimension to the unfolding drama.

However, amidst the chaos and confusion, one beacon of hope emerged – the resolve of Casino Marina to seek justice. Despite the intimidation tactics and the specter of political influence, the establishment remained steadfast in its commitment to uphold the rule of law. A police report was filed, and investigations are underway to ensure that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
As the city grapples with these questions, one thing remains clear – the need for vigilance and accountability in maintaining the integrity of public spaces. While the allure of entertainment may tempt us into moments of recklessness, it is incumbent upon us all to ensure that the pursuit of pleasure does not come at the expense of safety and security.
This is not the first time JB has been involved in scandalous and violence as he was earlier this year arrested for a similar incident.
Blessed Kazembe (JB) was arrested following a vicious gang attack on a man which left the victim with a missing tooth. The savage attack happened in the early hours of this morning outside Habhana Lounge in the Hillside area of the capital.
The Club Zone owner, only identified as JB, was in the company of a number of his aides and friends as they viciously attacked the man.
They had attended a birthday party at the same night club when a row erupted between the man and the gang.
