President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been in charge since 2017, but he has been in the spotlight for almost four decades, and his impact has been felt over that time.

After his predecessor, Mugabe, left office, it was alleged that the state mansion was in disarray, preventing Mnangagwa from moving in right away. So, where are the presidential homes located?

This page highlights President Mnangagwa’s homes, political career, and most contentious incidents.

Mnangagwa's house in Zvishavane

Mnangagwa’s house is a plush white mansion located in the Chief Mapanzure area, near Lundi Primary School in Zvishavane. It is worth noting that Mnangagwa studied at the same Lundi Primary.

In 2013, a report revealed that Mnangagwa’s house was under 24/7 surveillance by a large team of security personnel.

In addition to his Zvishavane house, Mnangagwa also reportedly has another house in Greystone Park in Harare.

President Mnangagwa’s mansion in Borrowdale

In November 2018, it was reported that President Emmerson Mnangagwa was constructing a huge mansion that was possibly intended to be his retirement home.

Mnangagwa’s new house is reportedly located on a large piece of land in Borrowdale suburbs off Crowhill in Harare. The house was reportedly constructed using exotic bricks and other high-end accessories.

During the construction of the house, a few members of the opposition tabled a motion in parliament to question the use of State funds by the president to build a lavish mansion. The motion was promptly stopped by the speaker of the national assembly.

Coming to the president’s defense, the president’s spokesperson explained that Mnangagwa was a successful farmer of maize, soya and wheat and he was building his house using the proceeds of the profits made from his investments.
