Harare- Madzibaba Enock, born Herbert Senda, has emerged as the driving force behind Harare’s mobilisation for the ruling party’s national conference, with his “Masowe Vakuru Vanotsigira ED” movement now claiming close to 10 000 followers ready to back the party’s agenda in Chinhoyi.

The Johanne Masowe eChishanu “Seven Stars” sect leader, who operates from a shrine in Budiriro 4, has built a religious network that reaches deep into Harare’s densely populated suburbs, energising the capital’s delegation ahead of the 23rd National People’s Conference.

At the launch of the “Masowe Vakuru Vanotsigira ED” initiative, thousands of white-garmented devotees converged on Glen Norah in a show of force organisers say signals the apostolic community’s unwavering support for President Mnangagwa and the ruling party .

“We are calling for an independent Ministry of Religion. We need our own minister so that our concerns can be addressed directly,” Enock declared amid ululations from the crowd .

He said the organisation boasts nearly 200,000 followers and would mobilise them behind the President and the ruling party .

“We have close to 200,000 followers and we are confident they will all back President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the ruling party from today onwards.”

Madzibaba Enock’s mobilisation network has dovetailed effectively with the party’s grassroots structures, providing a critical bridge into urban communities where the ruling party has historically faced stiff competition. His influence extends beyond Harare, with the Johanne Masowe eChishanu church having previously declared its allegiance to Zanu PF during its National Spiritual Conference in Highfield .

“We are fully behind ZANU PF,” church leader Madzibaba Enock said noting that the relationship between the apostolic church and the ruling party dates back to the liberation struggle when members prayed for freedom fighters .

Harare is expected to send one of the largest delegations to the conference, reflecting its status as the country’s most populous urban centre. The province’s resolutions focus on service delivery, economic development and the real concerns of urban residents — including water supply, sewer systems, road rehabilitation and title deeds.

The 23rd National People’s Conference runs from October 12 to 17 at Chinhoyi University of Technology under the theme “From Resolutions to Results: Consolidating Economic Development, Deepening Empowerment Towards Vision 2030,” and is expected to draw more than 7,500 delegates from all provinces.

For Madzibaba Enock, the conference represents a defining moment for the faith community’s role in national development.
